Last Saturday, we decided to take Cara, Sam and their cousin Austin, on a hike. We went up to the top of Millcreek canyon. We hiked a trail that led to the overlook of Park City.
Some highlights of the trip were listening to Cara wishing she didn't come, and the anticlimactic moment for the kids when they saw Park City. Apparently, they were hoping for something more spectacular.
My favorite moment of the hike was when Cara jumped off the trail, screaming, "There's a hole with a snake in it!" We all jumped and then looked. There was about a 1/2 inch deep hole with a tiny leaf inside it.
Another favorite was during lunch when Cara and Sam told Austin that his parents French kissed. Austin didn't know what French kissing was so Sam felt obliged to explain. Then they all looked at Steve and I with disgust, because we had participated in this activity. I'm not sure if Amy and Cameron will let Austin go anywhere with us again.
The plus sides of the hike were the brilliant Fall colors and the forced exercise I put on Steve.
