Okay, so I know that today is the start of a big worldwide summit on global warming. But today also happened to be the first major snowfall of the year. I woke to snow all over the ground. It was freezing so it was cold snow, the kind that turns to ice after a few cars have ridden over it. And I was happy. Extremely happy. I've been longing to run my errands with my Suburban in non-environmentally friendly four-wheel drive.

I was not disappointed. So although I want to help with the emissions because who doesn't want cleaner air, I am eternally grateful for American automakers located in the midwest who know what a winter is like.

Last year, when I had to drive the kids to school, I dreaded it. Knowing how easy it was to get stuck. I drove round about routes hoping to avoid hills because I didn't want to slide down them. I always made sure I had on clothes because if I had to get out and shovel, I didn't want to show off my pjs. Not so today. Today I brazenly wore my pajamas and flip flops as I loaded up the kids. I hit reverse and my car plowed through all the snow not like it was breakfast, but like it was driving over an ant. I drove the hills, wasn't afraid to stop (cuz I might not be able to get started again), and felt the power of a V8 engine purring. It was a beautiful thing.

So I don't exactly want to slap the environment in the face, because God gave us the command to take care of our earth, but I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself this morning. When I drove back up our driveway, I thought to myself, "I really don't have to shovel again. Well only for aesthetic reasons." Then I looked over at Steve's car (a practical Honda) and thought, "Okay, maybe Steve will have to shovel the driveway."

It is a pure pleasure to drive a vehicle that is not only not afraid of snow, but actually enjoys the challenge. We are expecting more snowfall overnight. Bring it on.

God also gave us our intelligence to overcome obsatcles and thank goodness they figured out 4-wheel drive. And eventhough I don't get to cruise in 4-wheel drive around town I sure enjoy kicking it in when in the mountains! Enjoy the snow thoroughly this year!!! and wear those pajamas!

At least you're out and about. Rich and Mindy are snowed in. No school, no work, and a blizzard going on. Hey how about some pictures of this beautiful stuff. We had snow in the mountains down to 500 feet. We even had it on the Saratoga foothills and it's cold, not as cold as there but it's cold.

Wow, that is awesome! I usually don't care about cars, but now that you put it that way I am so jealous.

I love 4 wheel drive. Last year, when we got hit with 3 feet of snow and even the Suburban couldn't get out, the Jeeps had no problem. It was totally awesome!! So, tell Steve to replace the Honda with a Jeep and goodbye to shoveling!

Enjoy that 4 wheel drive. Fun to see you today at Costco. About time we ran into each other at that store. I've seen Steve there, but it was much more enjoyable seeing you! :)
