Hawaii

                 Crabby gets a family

Some views are hard to leave

             Good times

So, Steve and I just got back from a trip to Maui with my sister, Tammy and her husband, Richard. I'm not sure why I included their names since Tammy is one of my four or five blog followers and she definitely knows who she is. But I suppose it is good documentation.

We had a great time. Playing in waves, some really big waves, getting thrown out of the water, trying to surf waves, and swimming in super calm water, so calm that snorkeling and seeing turtles was possible. All of this took place on the same beach, naturally. Just different days. Amazing what a little wind can do to the surf.

We left the kids at home, even more naturally. We do take them with us sometimes, just not mosttimes. However, before you feel sorry for the kids, they got to spend a week with their cousins. George informed me, "It was like we had a vacation while you were on vacation." I just feel sorry for Amy (their Aunt).  Some of my favorite statements all revolved around food. I called and was talking to Max. After a few sentences, he said, "I'm hungry," and put down the phone. Sam also informed Amy on the last day, "I just feel like I've been underfed." And to me when we brought them home, "I'm so hungry. It's just that food was restricted at their house." Hilarious. I assure you they were all just fine. Since then, Sam has been declaring his hunger nonstop. He eats a full dinner, dessert, and then claims he is still hungry. Sounds like a growth spurt to me. Great, I just bought new school clothes.

A little over a year ago, I brought Max his "Crabby" from Hawaii. He has been telling me ever since then that, "Crabby needs a family." I looked all over in Hawaii this time for another crab. I couldn't find one until the last day. Ironically, it was the very same crab I bought Max a year ago, only less worn. I had to explain to all the kids what a lot of love and a few wash cycles can do. But Max loves "Betty" Crabby's new female companion. She is married to Crabby because as Max pointed out, "her flower is on the left side." Maddie helped to make Max a full crab family. Now Max is the proud owner of two adult crabs and five crabby children. That sounds familiar!

Not for long. Soon Maddie will have to make Crabby and Betty a new little crabby.

I'm so glad Crabby was a hit. I laughed my head off about Sam always being hungry. Guess it's started for you. I can't tell you how many times Gary gets up from the table after 2nd and 3rd helpings of dinner and goes to the cupboard to start snacking. You have 3 boys (so far), just be prepared to start buying food by the truckloads.
