I'm Back!

Ok, so it's been a long time, but I'm busy. I have no pictures to post because I accidentally threw my iPhone off a cliff on Saturday. My iPhone is my camera. I haven't uploaded any pics on my computer in about a year because my computer drive is full and my phone always crashes it. So I guess I need a new phone and a new computer, or else I need to get rid of my kids because they fill up the computer and they told me to throw my backpack off the cliff.

It was a busy summer. Steve and I took Cara to New York the day after school let out. It fulfilled her lifelong dream and she even agreed to watch the kids during my birthday so we could go to Hawaii. But that didn't happen, but at least I know she's willing. It was so fun. Some of my favorite parts were  that Cara thought the subway would be free, the Empire State Building would be free, and the museum would be free (which technically it was, but you had to stop and pay to get a sticker which they asked for before you were allowed in). At least she didn't expect shopping to be free. We did plenty of that. We went into the Tiffany's store on my anniversary. Amazingly, I couldn't find anything I really liked. Lucky Steve. Our favorite parts were the plays. We loved Cinderella!

Next I went to youth conference. That basically means no sleep for 48 hours. But it was still fun. Cara made us play iPod idol. It was great. I did my number to Summer of 69. I only got hurt twice, once when I hit my head on the bunk bed and once when I jumped off the bunk bed.

The very next weekend, Steve and I went to San Diego for my brother's wedding. We had so much fun. We played at the beach, went to Old Town, La Jolla, Little Italy, Coronado and up the coast in four days! Byron was awesome because he didn't plan too much on his wedding day so we got to spend time doing tons of fun stuff!

So after my San Diego high, I came home and had sinus surgery. I thought I would be running around 48 hours later. That didn't happen. By the time I was recovered enough to look outside at the backyard, I decided to just write off the yard for the summer. It was very liberating. I am still undecided as to how successful the surgery was. I guess time will tell.

In July, we had our family union. We had the pre reunion at our house. 25 people over the weekend. It was a blast. The girls all slept on the deck off Maddie's room. It was perfect, we couldn't bar them! The boys slept downstairs and couples were scattered in different rooms. Eating was crazy, but I was finally happy to justify having six bathrooms. The reunion was fun. I loved seeing everyone and my kids loved being with cousins. At the end of the reunion, my other brother Richard, and his family came to visit for a short while. It was too short. We had so much fun. Mindy almost convinced me to visit Iowa. Almost.

In August I went to girls camp with Cara and Maddie. We had a great time. It was discovered that Cara is more mature than I. But that's ok, at least we have one mature female in the family. After camp, we went to CA for a week. Cara and Maddie sewed from sun up to sundown with my mom. I would show you pictures of their accomplishments, but I can't.

Then we came home and the kids started school. Cara is in her senior year. Leah just started preschool today. So that means I have 5 hours a week when no one is home with me. I could get used to that!

Welcome back. Enjoyed your post and the fun times we had together. Loved having your daughters for a few days. Can you retrieve the pictures from your phone. It would be a shame if they are a total loss.
