This is Cara's performance at last night's recital. My favorite part is when she scoots up on the bench so she can reach the piano with her whole arm. It is funny to me because I knew she was wearing such high heels that getting that close to the piano while maintaining control of the foot pedals with her heels was difficult. But only a mother would notice. My next favorite part is when she shakes out her hands at the end. Enjoy!
This is Sam's performance. It is particularly humorous to me because I never knew the song was this long. He informed me it's because he only practices it in sections. No wonder he could finishing practicing this song three times in three minutes!
Cara is auditioning with a new piano teacher tonight. Wish her luck. And wish me luck in convincing Sam to keep taking lessons and to learn to actually enjoy the instrument. Steve tells him girls love it, but Sam isn't interested.

Wow is right. Both kids sound great. Good luck on your new teacher Cara and Sam keep on playing. You'll never regret it and will always be so grateful.
I most regretted quitting piano when I was on my mission. There were very few members who could play and not all the missionaries could either. We often found ourselves singing hymns to the accompaniment of a recording. Tell Sam he'll be grateful he stuck with it. Unless he gets called to anywhere on the west coast where there are already a lot of Mormons who play the piano. Anyway, they both sounded awesome.
Very very awesome! Love that Cara played a Jon Schmidt song!
Fantastic! Cara and Sam sounded great! Loved when Cara threw her arm down on the keys. Loved Maddie's gum chewing in the background too! Very talented kids.
Amazing!! You both did great! Sam, girls really do love it...and Cara, I can't imagine that any teacher wouldn't be thrilled to take you. Good Luck!!
They are awesome! I am so proud of both of them. Tammy's right; Maddie provides nice interest as the gum-chewing page turner.
Holy Cow! They both did awesome!!! Tell Sam to keep it up, the girls will love it, but more than that, it will be HUGE on his mission. They asked me to play the piano once on my mission - after that they decided it would be better to sing acappella.
