I decided this year that I would learn to ski. Steve grew up skiing and he has taken the kids (except the two youngest) the last two years. They looked like they were having so much fun. Sam didn't want to go this year, so I convinced him to ditch the snowboard and try skiing instead. So he and I took a class two weeks ago. We both loved it. Last Monday, Steve, me and the four older kids went up to Park City. We had a blast. There is nothing quite like filling up a six person chair lift with your entire family.
Anyway, I have decided that skiing is my new favorite sport. I love the challenge of learning new skills. And I love that I can feel it working my legs. I want to go faster, but I feel like I need to be careful because I don't want to wreck. You know, that whole, "I have six kids and someone has to take care of them." I told Steve that next time I will get a helmet and then I won't have any reservations. I just can't believe that I waited this long to learn. Steve wants us to be one of those sixty-year-old couples that go skiing together. I'm all for it!

Your worry about who will take care of your kids if you wreck makes me think of a quote from last week's 30 Rock: "Who's gonna take care of my kids if I'm not around to pay someone to take care of my kids?".
Glad you have joined the ski club! We will have to head up to the slopes sometime.

I'm sooo proud of you! Enjoy it all for me because it has been raining all over the slopes for the past month here in Washington. I haven't even been able to use my seasons pass once.
