George learned that the end of summer came when school started. But I don't think he learned the truth about first grade until this week. On Wednesday, he asked if he could play with his cousin.
I replied, "No, he's not even home from school yet and you have gymnastics. After gymnastics it's dinner."
George exploded, "You mean all I have time for after school is dinner and bed? It takes up the whole day!"
Poor George. It's tough going from two years of 2 or 3 hour school days to six hour school days.
