Role Model

Okay, so maybe I'm not always the best role model. I won't even tell you what day this picture was taken and all that that day entailed, but Tammy and Gaylene will remember well.

My daughter Cara is a huge "Biggest Loser" fan. She can't wait for every Tuesday. Knowing this, this morning I went to wake her up. I said, "Cara, hurry, get up. Brady from the Biggest Loser is on Good Morning America!" She groggily, but quickly, raised her head and started to climb out of bed. I began to laugh and told her I was joking. She came downstairs ten minutes later and informed me that I was mean.

I always get Max to drink his milk by assuring him that he is indeed growing with each sip.

Sometimes when Max yells from his bed that he wants me, I yell upstairs, "Mom is dead."

I convinced Steve that BYU messed up his football tickets and did not seat him with his brother. I let him curse the athletic department and stew over it for a couple of hours before I informed him that I was joking.

Once I had the neighbor kid say to me, "Sharon, why you say 'Oh sh--!'?" I had just run over my son's bike. I thought it was justifiable.

When the kids ask my why I always give in to Max, I say, "Because I don't want to hear him cry."

And I am sure I will rue the day I had this conversation with Cara in a few years. We were on the freeway. I asked her, "Cara, aren't you going to be excited to turn 16 so you can drive?" She said, "No, I'm scared. Doesn't it scare you to drive fast?" I replied, "No, it delights me."

MOM,

You are seriously psycho. You write some pretty weird things on your blog. CRAZY is more like it. And yes I was mad at you this morning. THAT WAS NOT FUNNY!

And you wonder why you have to have conversations with your kids about harlots and french kissing.
